Kiwi actresses are taking mainstream entertainment by storm and letting the world know about the talent that New Zealand can produce with Jess Hong of the Netflix hit sci-fi series ‘3 Body Count’, Grace Palmer of the comedy series ‘Animal Control’, ‘Ghosts’ star Rose McIver, and ‘FBI: Most Wanted”s Keisha Castle-Hughes among the rising stars.
Those four actresses are all represented by the Auckland, New Zealand based talent agent Imogen Johnson of the talent agency Johnson & Laird Management, and is talking about the success each are having.
“Breaking into the US market is tough for any Kiwi actor, let alone landing a major role on a multi-season primetime network show,” Johnson said, according to the New Zealand Herald. “I’m immensely proud of Rose, Keisha, Grace and Jess for paving the way in this space.”
McIver, in particular, continues to have success, building off the momentum she had with the CW comedy series iZombie, which enjoyed 5 successful seasons from 2015-2019, and is currently filming for the CBS series ‘Ghosts’.
Palmer is enjoying the success of her top rated show ‘Animal Control’ which has churned out three solid seasons.
Castle-Hughes’ successful CBS series FBI: Most Wanted, is due to screen in the United States in October with past seasons available on Sky’s SkyGo as well as Neon.
