Ant Timpson’s New Film ‘Bookworm’ Filmed in New Zealand

A brand new film from New Zealand’s own Ant Timpson called ‘Bookworm’ is creating quite the buzz as the new family adventure comedy starring Elijah Wood, that was filmed in New Zealand, has inspired a brand new gourmet pie, according to the New Zealand Herald.

According to the official synopsis: “11 year old Mildred’s world is turned upside-down when her estranged father, the washed-up magician Strawn Wise comes to look after her and agrees to take her camping to find a mythological beast known as the Canterbury Panther.”

The Sheffield Pie shop has been a local legend in New Zealand for decades, known for being a popular pit-stop for thousands of locals and travelers, and has created  a ‘Canterbury Panther Pie’ to celebrate the release of the new film.

The shops Sheffield pies were popular among the cast and crew of the film as well, including Wood.

Now, visitors can enjoy a ‘Canterbury Panther’, which is a cheeseburger-flavored gourmet pie loaded with steak, cheese, gherkin, mustard, tomato relish, and onions, but you have to act fast as it is only available for a limited time.

Additionally, visitors can enter a contest to win a $100 Sheffield Pie voucher, a family pass to see the new film, and also some exclusive merchandise as well.

“To enter, simply snap a photo of your pie and post it on Instagram or Facebook, tagging @worldfamoussheffieldpies, or fill out the entry form in-store at the Sheffield or Oxford locations,” a Sheffield pie shop spokesperson said.

The contest runs from August 16th through September 6th.
