Gear up for some Carpool Karaoke, fun interviews, and great music: Hit show The Late Late Show with James Corden will be premiering on Duke, TVNZ’s new channel.
The show has a segment called Carpool Karaoke, a sing-along which features Corden driving in a car with famous musicians/celebrities–some of the past guests include Elton John, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Adele, Jennifer Hudson, A$AP Rocky and One Direction.
The show’s Adele Carpool episode got over 84 million views, and became one of the most watched late night show clip on YouTube ever.
“There’s something very joyful about seeing a megastar sing their hits in the very same place that we sing them,” said Corden in a Katie Couric article. “It’s a very humanizing place.”
The Carpool Karaoke segment has become so popular that it will soon be a standalone TV show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Corden and his executive producer Ben Winston are shopping an original series.
The plan is still on its early stages, but the THR report says that Corden is not expected to host the new show, but he will be heavily involved” and act as an executive producer, as well as make appearances.
From March 20, audiences can stream Duke here, or get on Freeview 13 and Sky 23.
Other shows in store include Brooklyn Nine Nine, Family Guy, Gotham, and Two and a Half Men; as well as sports coverage of events like wrestling, AFL, NFL, and World Rally Championship.
