Apple may just have announced the release date of the Apple Watch in New Zealand in the App Store.
On July 15th, Apple said on its website that the next destination of its watch is New Zealand. The product page said that the country will get it on July 31st.
The update states: “Available 31 July after 7:01 am.” There are no physical Apple stores in the country, so it its assumed that New Zealanders will have to purchase the device online.
This post, however, was taken down at around 1pm today. The July 31st line was replaced with simply “Available in 2015.” Prices were not mentioned.
The Apple Watch was introduced in September 2014. The reception was generally good, but a study shortly claims that sales had fell by 90 per cent–Slice Intelligence reported that on April 13, the company was selling around 35,000 watched a day. On July 2nd, however, it plummeted to just 5,00 watches a day.
Apple Watch was first released in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK and the US. In June, it became available in Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, and Taiwan. On July 17th, it is expected to be rolled out into Sweden, Thailand, and the Netherlands.
The device, which has fitness tracking and health-oriented capabilities, is available in three collections: Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch, and Apple Watch Edition.
AppleInsider reported that expansions of the device could continue this year. “By the fall Apple will have also released watchOS 2, adding features like native apps, a Nightstand mode, and third-party complications,” it added.
