An eclectic colourful and fun cafe with a third world touch, Deluxe is one of Wellington's first hip late night cafes. Initially set up as a temporary café for the Wellington Film Festival in 1988, Deluxe became an institution and has traded ever since.
Big on big servings and healthy fresh food made daily, Deluxe attracts locals from across town. The mega lunch and coffee trade is testament to a huge regular clientele. Serving over 500 coffees a day could be a daunting task for most small cafes, but not this one. Deluxe has carved a niche as a local spot famed for their awesome food.
Refusing to fit into a conventional café mould, Deluxe is as much patron of the arts as it is a café. Many Wellington artists have been commissioned to make functional yet exciting pieces …from furniture to the coffee machine. Deluxe also hosts local artists on its walls and is a spot to check out the Wellington Ukulele Orchestra.
