Cutting into the Fringe

It’s just days to go until life on the edge will begin.  The 2010 Fringe Festival promises to be a strange and wonderful beast, with comedy, music, theatre, dance, visual arts and a whole load of WTF on offer for the next month.

Liberta D

First popularised in Puerto Rico, reggaeton mashes reggae, dancehall, hip hop and a variety of Latin American and Caribbean musical parents into one mongrel offspring.

In recent years the genre has become something of a worldwide phenomenon, with reggaeton records moving off the Latin charts in the US to achieve mainstream chart success; reggaeton also remains popular throughout Latin America.

You might say that ex Wellington ad-man Geoff Ross was a guy with a dream...read more...

The Future's so Bright...

KSUBI!!!   No, I’m not about to attack you with a Samurai sword.  It’s just that Ksubi eyewear have their 2010 collection on the go in Wellington, and it’s definitely looking all good for sun worshipping in the fashion capital.

The collection is called “Book Club” and carries the tagline “Flat?  Have you got any flatter?”  I assume that has something to do with the flat-fronted glasses but hey, I’ve been wrong before.

There’s a high-pop quality to the range, with some strong lines to the frames...read more...
